    Szerencs\u00e9re pul\u00f3verb\u0151l nem volt annyi darabom, mind farmernadr\u00e1gb\u00f3l, de az\u00e9rt abb\u00f3l is akadt b\u0151ven. Szinte minden sz\u00ednben egy. Most m\u00e1r tudom, hogy egy-egy j\u00f3l kiv\u00e1lasztott darabbal ak\u00e1r h\u00e1rom m\u00e1sikat is ki lehet hordani. Amit akkor m\u00e9g nem tudtam, hogy rengeteg j\u00f3 alapanyagb\u00f3l k\u00e9sz\u00fclt kieg\u00e9sz\u00edt\u0151 k\u00f6z\u00fcl tudok v\u00e1logatni haszn\u00e1ltan \u00e9s a legt\u00f6bb mind st\u00edlusosabb, mint a most trendi darabok.       But now I know I was wrong. I\u2019ve compiled 10 years of experience buying secondhand clothes so that you don\u2019t make the same mistake I did, and so that you\u2019re open to finding truly great preloved pieces right from the start. When I started buying secondhand clothes about 10 years ago, I thought it wasn\u2019t worth looking for secondhand pants\u2014and anyway, what were the chances I\u2019d find a pair I liked in terms of color and style, that was actually fashionable, and even in the right size? Anyway, back then, my general opinion about buying pants was that you should buy them when you find a good pair, not when you actually need them. This led to me having more than 10 (!) pairs of jeans, but none of them were very high quality, and maybe there was only one among them that I really loved wearing. Today, I take almost the opposite stance. I have three pairs, but they\u2019re all ones I can count on anytime. By the way, all three are vintage pieces, and I bought all of them secondhand. But there were almost no signs of wear on them; they were all in perfect condition. 2. Sweaters Fortunately, I didn\u2019t have as many sweaters as I did pairs of jeans, but I still had plenty of them. I had one in almost every color. Now I know that with a single well-chosen piece, you can wear it in as many as three different ways. Now, most of my sweaters are made entirely or at least mostly of wool, and they\u2019re much more comfortable to wear than their synthetic predecessors. And what\u2019s even more true for this category is that you can find them secondhand for well below the original price without them having any flaws. It\u2019s easy to find truly high-quality wool sweaters secondhand during the right season, since many people who made a point of buying pieces made from good materials also took good care of them, thus preserving them for a second or even third owner. 3. Blazers My opinion on blazers was the same as it was on jeans. It\u2019s hard to find a well-tailored, stylish piece even when new, let alone secondhand. Capsule wardrobe or not, I currently have three black blazers, two of which are vintage pieces that I\u2019m guaranteed not to run into on the street. One is a cropped corduroy blazer, and the other is a slightly puff-sleeved, also cropped 100% wool blazer with metal buttons and a stand-up collar. What I also know is that I wouldn\u2019t have bought either of them new, since I wasn\u2019t even looking for them\u2014you could say they found me. One was in a one-kilo bag, and the other was a gift. I hardly ever wear my \u201caverage\u201d classic black blazer anymore, because my heart always leans toward vintage pieces. 4. Staples like solid-color shirts and T-shirts My thinking was that since these are the foundation of a good capsule wardrobe and I wear them often, it\u2019s worth buying new ones. What I hadn\u2019t considered back then was that a higher-quality, pre-owned piece lasts much longer than a cheaper, lower-quality new one. I suppose I don\u2019t even need to say it now, but most of my current favorite basics came to me secondhand, and I know they\u2019ll be with me for a long time to come. 5. Coats I have to admit, I really love coats, and I consider it essential to have a suitable option for every weather condition. On a busy day, there\u2019s no better companion than a well-tailored, versatile coat that makes it easy to look stylish, whether it\u2019s winter\u2014when not much of your outfit is visible beyond the coat, pants, and boots\u2014or summer, when you need an extra layer over a light summer dress. For me, these items form the solid foundation of a capsule wardrobe. And to my surprise, it was easier to find a used coat than a new one. Before, I\u2019d often walk through an entire mall and still not find one I liked, because almost every store sold the same thing, following the current trend. If I did find one I liked, within a few weeks I was disappointed to see that many other people liked it too, and it wasn\u2019t unique at all. Ever since I started looking for vintage coats, this problem has gone away. 6. Seasonal accessories Since I didn\u2019t wear accessories for very long, I\u2019d replace them after a season or two; my thinking was that I\u2019d follow the trends and try to make \u201ccost-effective\u201d choices. Now I know that this was the worst possible choice, because I had to replace a scarf, hat, or shawl so quickly because they were poor quality and wouldn\u2019t have lasted more than a season or two anyway. What I didn\u2019t know back then was that I could choose from a wide variety of accessories made from high-quality materials\u2014even secondhand\u2014and most of them are actually more stylish than the pieces that are trendy right now. For example, this silk bandana is the perfect choice for almost any season, and I\u2019d probably never feel out of style wearing it. 7. Leather Goods Bags and belts were just as hard to find as coats. I really like having a minimal collection of these so I don\u2019t have to, say, pack all my stuff into a different bag every day. But it\u2019s getting harder and harder to find a bag that lasts a long time. Older leather or even faux leather pieces are much more durable than today\u2019s one-season items, not to mention their uniqueness and functionality.
